Physics Honors Project; need input

Hello and thanks for coming. This semester I have an Honors Project for my Physics class and I would like some input from people in the know.

The project is basically a comparison and analysis of Newtonian Physics versus MoND (Modified Newtonian Dynamics) and Dark Matter hypotheses. This is for a Phy121 level class but I like to push the envelope a little. Obviously I know how to use a library, bookstore and the internet to search for articles but what would really help is if you know of any really good sources on the subject(s) or have any interesting twists or thoughts on the matter.

I appreciate all input and will reciprocate with mention of reference and keep you up to date on my progress and the final outcome.

Thank you!

To The Ranch!

It has been a long time but it is about time I got out of town for a bit with no agenda. So the phone goes off and so do I. Hopefully the weather will be good and nights quiet. It seems a little hard to break free at times. People seem to just try and track you down no matter what. At all times, it’s like they take turns tag teaming ya. Here you go! It’s your turn go get ‘em!

Not this weekend. Hell or high water solace awaits!

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s affects everyone! People over the age of 65 are most at risk and currently there are about 24 million people worldwide suffering from Alzheimer’s. As the baby boomers of our country and most of the median age of the industrialized world’s population reaches 60 more cases of Alzheimer’s will become prevalent. This is bad juju. You, your parents or even your grandparents are at risk.

The only treatments for Alzheimer’s only alleviate the symptoms but do not halt the disease’s progression. Many great minds of today can be lost to this disease. There are mild, moderate and severe stages to this disease with symptoms ranging from minor cognitive impairment to inability to perform even simple tasks.

That’s where the Alzheimer’s Association and you come in. There are Memory Walks happening nationwide to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research you can sign up to be a Team Captain and recruit others to aid in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Every step you take will be good you and countless others helped with the money you raised. The Alzheimer’s Association has risen over $225 Million dollars since 1989 to combat this degenerative disease.

Think of all the brilliant characters, personalities, wisdom, stories and knowledge that is lost every year to Alzheimer’s. Now imagine it is you losing that, or a loved one…

So do your part to help grandma and grandpa. Go take a walk!

Huge Online Storage Site Just Opened

Driveway.com just opened its doors and wants you to know about this awesome new service. It’s simple and allows you to send large files with ease

How it works:

  1. Go to Driveway.com
  2. On the very first page is a browse button, click it
  3. Select the file you want to upload (up to 500MBs per file! With unlimited total storage)
  4. Click either “Send files for Read” or “Send Files for Edit” (for large office documents like word, excel and powerpoint)
  5. Depending on your connection speed you will be done in moments and given a link that you can send to coworkers, friends and family.

Why is this so great? There is no registration required, no long forms to go through, no waiting. I tried it out with my first podcast and it worked great. The download speeds are superb and only vary with file size (and your connection).

Additionally there is a plug-in for windows explorer that allows you to skip the browser session and simply right click a file on your desktop and instantly begin uploading your large files for sharing. What do you have to lose? I’m going to start uploading a freeware game I like to play right now!

Ready for that Audio Upgrade?

Unless you are rolling in a premium auto chances are your audio system could use an upgrade or two. Even if you are piloting the newest 7 series or an SLR there are some car audio features you are probably without and might want to add. Now that you are thinking about what kind of improvements you can make to your listening experience allow me to point you in the direction of Electra WarehouseWith VERY competitive prices and a massive assortment of car audio (and even DJ) equipment, they are sure to have what you are looking for.

Do some comparative pricing for yourself with their online catalog. They only mark up equipment $1 or $2 in comparison to other car audio sites with huge markups. I checked out some In Dash DVD systems with LCD screens and was impressed with their offering. So get that mouse clicking and head on over there.

What kind of Podcast should I have?

Hey Everyone,

Really need your input here. You may or may not have listened to my first podcast. More than anything it was an experiment into how the process works and what kind of time I should expect to put into each one. The learn curve wasn’t as steep as it could have been. Podcasts have been around for awhile so there are more applications and resources at my disposal then there would have been years ago.

The first podcast was just some news I found. I tried to maintain a balance between major news and little known news. Do I want my podcast to be about news? Not completely, if it was all news then I would have to be up at 3am every morning combing the web for new items so the podcast could have fresh news in the morning.

What can a podcast be about? Anything really, the key is making it interesting and that is defined by you the listener. Ideas are: news, read some short stories, tips and tricks (about whatever), talk about adventures, army stories, etc. You get the point.

For those of you that know me, what is it that you would like to hear about?
